Job Description
Showpad is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to join their Data Platform team. This role involves building and evolving a cloud-native data platform that powers business insights and drives a data-first culture. The engineer will be based in Bucharest and work on a hybrid schedule, with 2 days a week in the office.
  • Architecting and engineering robust, cost-efficient, and high-performing data infrastructure on AWS.
  • Designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Automating provisioning and managing platform resources using Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK).
  • Setting up monitoring, alerting, and logging.
  • Shaping tech strategy and bringing new ideas to life.
  • Championing best practices in data governance, security (GDPR, CCPA), and quality.
  • Creating clear, comprehensive platform documentation.
  • Taking the technical lead on initiatives and collaborating with Data Science, Analytics, and Engineering teams.
  • Mentoring and sharing knowledge with the team.
Requirements:
  • Experience with AWS (S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda, Redshift, Step Functions, IAM, VPC).
  • Proficiency in AWS CDK (bonus for TypeScript fluency).
  • Strong coding skills in TypeScript and/or Python.
  • Knowledge of data lake architectures (Medallion/zoned, Parquet, Delta Lake, schema evolution).
  • Experience with DevOps/Software Craft practices (Git, CI/CD, testing, agile).
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or Fargate.
  • Problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and curiosity.
  • Strong communication skills.
