Job Description

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their Executive Management Team. The CFO will be responsible for shaping and implementing financial and risk management strategies that align with ESA’s values and strategic vision. He will be a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors, ensuring ESA’s financial health and long-term success.Role involves:

• Shaping strategy, policy, and execution for financial operations and compliance.
• Collaborating with ESA’s executive team to set the firm’s strategic direction.
• Overseeing legal and risk management, ensuring the integrity of all company financials.
• Streamlining corporate policies, enhancing compliance frameworks, and supporting risk management and internal controls.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration with CPA and/or MBA credentials.
• 15+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience.
• Proven success as a CFO in a mid-to-large organization.
• Background in engineering, environmental, or professional services industries.
• Expert knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), regulatory compliance (FAR), and audit procedures.
• Experience in government contracting, both state and federal.
• Experience leading M&A transactions.
• Experience with operating businesses in multiple states such as CA, WA, OR, and FL.
