Job Description
Arizona Liver Health is seeking a Temporary Research Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Tucson, AZ. This role is crucial in providing innovative patient care for those affected by liver disease. The successful candidate will be a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with previous clinical experience, preferably in clinical research, gastroenterology (GI), or hepatology.

Role involves:

  • Performing patient evaluations and consults.
  • Educating patients on therapeutic options through available liver clinical trials.
  • Performing specialized procedures and collaborating with MD on patient diagnosis.
  • Counseling patients and families.
  • Managing patient care, overseeing clinical trials, and performing safety medical reviews.
  • Working with research staff to complete visits and submit accurate documentation.
  • Reviewing documentation for studies, charting, and informed consents.
  • Communicating with research team members and understanding protocols.
  • Taking studies and patients from first visit to closeout.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in clinical research.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and EMR systems (eCW).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide patient care with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform in-clinic procedures (e.g., fibroscans).
  • Autonomous in call-rotation.
  • Ability to diagnose and make treatment decisions.
  • At least one year of experience in a clinic or hospital setting as an NP or PA.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner with current RN and NP License.
  • Graduate of a university program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education (ARCE) for the Physician Assistant with certification by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), license to practice in Arizona.
  • Must maintain certifications as required by department or division.
  • Completion of GCP and IATA trainings at hire.

Role offers:

  • Full-time, temporary position (40 hours/week).
  • Competitive hourly rate of $85-$95 depending on experience.
