Job Description
Ultima Genomics, a rapidly growing life sciences technology company, is seeking a highly motivated Sub-Assembly Technician II to join their innovative team. This is a full-time contracting position.Role involves:
- Assembling, installing, and testing complex mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and equipment using hand and power tools
- Executing automation testing and completing required documentation
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues across subsystems
- Documenting assembly and testing issues by creating and managing Jira tickets
- Using internal software tools to collect, record, and manage build and test data
- Collaborating with engineering teams to identify and drive design or process improvements
- Drafting and reviewing work instructions for system integration and automation workflows
- Managing system configurations and participating in Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes
- Supporting quality and manufacturing engineering teams on production issues and new product introduction (NPI) initiatives
Requirements:
- BS degree in engineering, physics, or a related field preferred, or 1-2 years of relevant hands-on experience in manufacturing or assembly
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Skilled in using hand tools and diagnostic instruments
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for precision assembly
- Familiarity with 5S methodology and a strong safety mindset preferred
- Familiarity with Jira, ERP and PLM systems, such as NetSuite or Arena and Basic Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools for documentation and reporting is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
- Comfortable collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
- Proactive, dependable, and committed to high-quality work with a positive attitude, curiosity, and eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment
