Job Description
2K is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to join their team in Dublin, Ireland. The Senior Technical Artist will work closely with the team to refine workflows and content authoring processes, mentor others on tool usages, technical workflows, and best practices. They will also support the team with technical guidance around modern lighting models such as PBR and real-time performance on a broad range of games. The ideal candidate will implement and set up assets in the game engine and help support tools and pipelines in DCC applications such as Maya, Substance, Photoshop, and Unreal. They will also create and maintain shaders and materials of various complexities, styles, and levels of detail, as well as create written or video documentation to aid information sharing.
Responsibilities: - Refine workflows and content authoring processes.
- Mentor and teach others on tool usages, technical workflows, and best practices.
- Support the team with technical guidance around modern lighting models such as PBR.
- Support real time performance on a broad range of games.
- Implement and set up assets in the game engine.
- Help support tools and pipelines in DCC applications such as Maya, Substance, Photoshop, and Unreal.
- Create and maintain shaders and materials of various complexities, styles and levels of detail.
- Create a written or video documentation to aid information sharing.
Requirements: - Experience working with a game engine (e.g. Unreal, Unity, or AAA proprietary game engines).
- Good understanding of how 3D art assets are created in a professional environment.
- Good understanding of art principles and how they can be applied to video games.
- Experience with driving positive and effective collaborative processes in a team environment.
- Understanding of how tools and pipelines affect the team's development performance and effectiveness.
- Experience with optimising(e.g. LOD, fps performance, memory footprint) assets.
- Experience developing shaders with HLSL or GLSL.
- Experience developing tools with Python, C++ or C# is a plus.
