Job Description
Axon is seeking a Senior Thermal Simulation Engineer to join its R&D team. This role is crucial for designing, optimizing, and enhancing Axon's products through thermal simulation models. The engineer will troubleshoot thermal and airflow issues, optimize component placement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal thermal performance.
The role involves:
- Developing and validating CFD and thermal simulation models.
- Recommending design modifications based on simulation results.
- Applying engineering principles of heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
- Troubleshooting thermal and airflow-related issues.
- Providing technical guidance and support to the engineering team.
- Optimizing airflow speed, volume, and flow paths.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Producing detailed thermal simulation reports.
- Assisting in developing test plans for thermal validation.
- Working closely with external chip manufacturers.
- Developing creative solutions to reduce modeling time.
- Analyzing and solving complex thermal issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 6+ years of experience in thermal simulations within the consumer electronics industry.
- Proficiency in commercial CFD software (FloEFD or FloTherm preferred).
- Strong knowledge in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
- Experience with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).
- Expertise in advanced engineering analysis techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Programming skills in scripting languages (Python or LabVIEW) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with experimental testing for thermal validation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
