Lead Cloud Engineer

Job Description

Zafin is seeking a Lead Cloud Operations Engineer to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of its SaaS platform. The role involves advanced technical duties and leadership responsibilities, including mentoring team members and driving continuous improvement. The Lead Cloud Operations Engineer will serve as a key point of contact across teams, providing strategic and hands-on support in operational excellence and cloud-native practices.

What this role involves:

• Leading the design, deployment, and maintenance of Zafin’s SaaS environment across public cloud platforms.
• Ensuring the operational stability and performance of production and pre-production environments.
• Investigating and resolving complex environmental and operational issues.
• Driving operational efficiencies and process improvements.
• Designing, building, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Collaborating with engineering, QA, security, and product teams.
• Serving as a subject matter expert on Zafin’s SaaS platform architecture.
• Leading and participating in an on-call rotation.
• Mentoring junior engineers.
• Acting as the Cloud Operations Manager when required.

Requirements:

• 6-12 years of experience in infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
• Experience with application security using Azure resources.
• Experience with IaC deployment (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Solid knowledge of Cloud computing.
• Solid Azure cloud hands-on experience.
• Solid understanding of SRE best practices.
• Hands-on experience on Linux Operating System and maintenance.
• Experience working with automated deployment pipelines, preferably on Azure DevOps.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes / OpenShift.
