Job Description
Carta is seeking a Fund Accountant to join their vibrant team in London. This role involves performing fund administration and accounting tasks, enhancing fund accounting processes, and tackling challenges at the intersection of law, accounting, and finance. The Fund Accountant will also proactively share knowledge with team members to automate fund structures and improve products. Carta's fund administration platform supports nearly 7,000 funds and SPVs, representing $150B in assets under administration in venture capital and private equity.

Responsibilities:
  • Handling investor transactions
  • Preparing capital calls
  • Producing NAVs (capital accounts, financial reports)
  • Preparing annual financial statements
  • Enhancing fund accounting processes
  • Implementing improvements with Product and Engineering teams
  • Automating fund administration
  • Tackling challenges in law, accounting, finance, regulation, and tax
  • Sharing knowledge with team members

Requirements:
  • Prior experience in preparing fund accounts and financial statements (IFRS, US GAAP, Lux GAAP, etc.)
  • 2+ years of Accounting or Finance experience within the Funds industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of complex fund accounting mechanisms (closed-end Funds)
  • Audit support experience
  • Numerical Bachelor’s degree (Accountancy/Finance preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge and interest in Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Start-up ecosystem
  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA accountant (not essential)
