Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to join their team in Singapore. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide legal support for core business functions across APAC. The Senior Corporate Counsel will have specific responsibility for a broad range of legal matters across multiple markets in the APAC region and will have leadership responsibilities within the APAC team. He/she will work closely with subject domains within the legal department such as public policy, intellectual property, data privacy and corporate governance. He/she will also serve as a functional legal expert who possesses subject matter expertise in two or more legal and regulatory areas relevant to the PlayStation business in APAC.
Providing transactional support and general legal counselling to a broad range of SIE business functions in APAC
Being a strategic thought partner to business, operational and functional support teams
Advising and supporting business teams to manage risk and drive growth in the APAC region
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating business agreements and legal documents
Managing and responding to inquiries or investigations by regulators or law enforcement agencies
Providing legal advice across a variety of topics to global legal teams
Advising on policy or regulatory matters
Supervising, managing and leading members of the APAC legal team
Managing outside counsel and a legal budget
Leading or supporting global and regional projects from time to time
Law graduate with a license to practice law in Singapore, England or another common law jurisdiction
Minimum 12 years’ experience practicing law either in an in-house corporate legal department, top-tier law firm or a combination of both
Experience leading and managing a team
Familiarity with consumer, e-commerce, contract, product marketing and advertising laws in one or more APAC countries
Experience providing legal support for to sales and marketing organisations in APAC, ideally in the consumer electronics sales (physical and e-sales) and hardware distribution sector
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills in at least English
