Job Description

AutoScout24 Group is seeking a Senior or Principal Fullstack Engineer to join their Search Funnel team in Munich. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to shape key parts of the user experience and contribute to critical business outcomes. This role involves real ownership, architecture, implementation, and mentorship, all while driving quality, performance, and scalability across the stack.

What this role involves:

  • Leading the development of fullstack features using React, TypeScript, Node.js, Java, Next.
  • Architecting and maintaining a modular monolith that’s clean, scalable, and built to last.
  • Optimizing frontend performance with a strong focus on Core Web Vitals and usability.
  • Designing backend services that are efficient, observable, and production-ready.
  • Driving A/B experimentation, performance measurement, and data-informed decisions.
  • Contributing to strategic technical decisions, clean code standards, and long-term system health.
  • Mentoring engineers across the team and foster a high-performance engineering culture.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of hands-on software development experience with production systems.
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
  • Solid backend knowledge in Java and distributed systems (Scala is a plus).
  • Experience building and running high-traffic applications in a product-focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of frontend performance, SEO, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Proven experience working with modular monoliths.
  • Comfortable working with experimentation, feature flags, and data-driven iteration.
  • Clear communicator and natural mentor, capable of guiding technical decisions and team growth.
  • Experience leveraging AI, Generative AI (GenAI) to enhance engineering productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and optimize workflows.
