Job Description
SEO is seeking a passionate and dedicated Summer Academy Instructor to teach English Language Arts (ELA) to motivated high school students in New York City. The instructor will implement a rigorous college prep curriculum using a student-centered, anti-oppressive approach. This role involves fostering depth of understanding and skill acquisition, guiding students towards college readiness and beyond.
Role Involves:
- Teaching three to four periods of ELA and/or Advisory.
- Utilizing instructional technologies such as Brightspace, Nearpod, and GSuite.
- Preparing and adjusting lesson plans based on student needs.
- Grading and providing feedback to students.
- Collaborating with SEO staff and instructors.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Teaching certification or experience at the K-12 or college level.
- Comfort with technological learning systems.
- Experience working with high school-aged students.
- Expertise in advanced high school-level English and Humanities.
SEO Offers:
- $50/hour compensation.
