Software Engineer

VGW, an interactive entertainment company, is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Engineering team in Sydney. The Software Engineer will be responsible for building, shipping, and running projects in a cloud-native environment, adhering to CI/CD, IaC, O11y, and CyberSec principles. The role involves improving the codebase, understanding design decisions, and ensuring effective feature delivery.

What this role involves:

• Writing clean, well-structured code and automated tests.
• Managing source control.
• Improving the codebase.
• Implementing and using event-driven architectures.
• Cloud development on AWS.

Requirements:

• Robust coding practices.
• Deep understanding of design and architectural decisions.
• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Cloud development experience (AWS preferred).
• Containerization experience (Docker and/or Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of OO and Functional programming paradigms.
• Collaborative approach to software engineering.
