Job Description
Marqeta is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to contribute to the creation of developer-focused content. This role involves collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to produce developer guides, API reference documentation, tutorials, and UI text for the Marqeta platform. Marqeta operates under a Flexible First model, allowing for remote work within the Toronto or Vancouver Metro areas in Canada.
The role involves:
- Writing clear documentation for developers, analysts, managers, and other specialists.
- Evaluating documentation tasks and drafting updates to customer-facing documentation.
- Collaborating with engineers and product managers to gather information and test functionality.
- Participating in establishing style and process guidelines for documentation.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align on the documentation roadmap.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in technical writing for developer audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, code commenting tools, and source code repositories.
- Ability to read and understand JSON/JavaScript source code.
- Familiarity with creating and publishing API reference documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with authoring, CMS, and task management tools like Jira, GitHub, and Markdown.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate, and manage multiple projects.
- Knowledge of technical writing standards and familiarity with common style guides.
