Director, Spacecraft Production

Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Director of Spacecraft Production to lead satellite and satellite component manufacturing teams at their Long Beach, CA headquarters. This role is responsible for consistent, on-time delivery of products, maintaining impeccable standards for quality and workmanship, cost management, and scaling production systems and processes to meet rapidly growing demand. The Director will lead a cross-functional team of managers, engineers, and technicians, working closely with designers, quality, supply chain, and business development.Role involves:

• Leading high-performing teams to deliver on schedule, cost, and quality.
• Implementing and scaling production systems and processes.
• Leading projects to improve worker safety, productivity, and quality.
• Developing, coaching, and motivating a high-performance team.
• Collaborating with engineering and program management for improvements.
• Ensuring new products are designed with manufacturability in mind.
• Establishing organizational standards for lean production.
• Coordinating and building relationships across departments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, aerospace, or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Experience in continuous improvement projects within a production environment.
• Track record of deploying strategies, metrics, and KPIs.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
