Job Description

Backbase is seeking a Fullstack Engineer to join their multicultural, multi-disciplinary team in Amsterdam. The engineer will help shape and build Backbase's new internal information portal, used daily by all Backbasers, customers, and partners. The role involves building scalable, user-centered solutions using modern technologies, with a focus on Angular 17+, React, TypeScript, NestJS, and Python to support AI-driven features.

The role involves:

  • Writing clean, testable, maintainable code across browsers and devices.
  • Collaborating in a cross-functional team through the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Taking full ownership of features, from front-end experiences to back-end services and data management.
  • Writing unit tests to ensure component security, reliability, and user-friendliness.
  • Helping re-architect the platform and define the technical strategy to scale and drive adoption.
  • Experimenting with new tools, languages, and workflows, especially in the AI space.

Requirements:

  • Strong Angular (17+) and TypeScript skills.
  • React experience is a bonus.
  • Comfortable with RxJS and common design patterns.
  • Back-end experience with Node.js and frameworks like NestJS.
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like Jest or Jasmine.
  • Experience managing effective CI/CD processes in a modular architecture.
  • Experience with Docker and Linux environments.
  • Ability to clearly communicate implementation scenarios, risks, and trade-offs.
