Job Description

Lightspeed is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Golang to join their eCommerce business unit in Amsterdam. This role focuses on the Lightspeed Omnichannel product, contributing to the growth of merchants' businesses by integrating the Lightspeed ecosystem.

The Staff Software Engineer will work across products in a multi-language environment, including Java and Kotlin. They will architect scalable solutions, write high-performance Go code, design distributed systems, author RFCs, and mentor other engineers.

Role Involves:

  • Building high-performance microservices in Golang.
  • Developing clean, idiomatic Go code with a focus on concurrency and scalability.
  • Collaborating within a team to deliver product features.
  • Engaging with product managers and senior developers to drive technical decisions.
  • Growing expertise in Golang best practices and expanding knowledge of Java/Kotlin ecosystems.

Requirements:

  • Senior-level work experience with Golang, specializing in concurrent programming and microservices.
  • High proficiency with Java and Kotlin.
  • Strong experience with Relational databases and NoSQL (PostgreSQL, Redis).
  • Track record of writing performant, maintainable code across different languages.
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
  • Strong drive, communication skills, and ownership mindset.
  • Full working proficiency in English.
