Job Description
Betsson Group is seeking a Junior PHP Full Stack Engineer to join their development team in Malta. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the company's online casino platform, working on both the front-end and back-end. This role involves collaborating with a team of developers and other stakeholders to build and enhance features using React and JavaScript on the front-end, while utilizing PHP (Symfony) on the back-end. The engineer will integrate front-end components with microservices built in Node.js and help modernize legacy systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Work on both the front-end and back-end of our online casino platform
  • Build and enhance features using React and JavaScript on the front-end while utilizing PHP (Symfony ) on the back-end
  • Integrate front-end components with microservices built in Node.js and help modernize legacy systems
  • Implement unit testing with PHPUnit for back-end services and Jest for front-end testing
  • Participate in the architecture, design, and implementation of high-performance, highly available systems
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure product quality and timely delivery

Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in full-stack development
  • Strong knowledge of PHP (preferably Symfony or Laravel)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (React is a plus but not mandatory)
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks like PHPUnit and Jest
  • Familiarity with Node.js for building microservices is a bonus
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and system design
  • Passion for coding and modernizing software applications
