Job Description
Chainguard is seeking a Federal Sales Engineer to join their Public Sector team. This role is crucial for the technical aspects of the sales process, including product positioning, demonstrations, competitive analysis, and value validation. The Federal SE will cultivate relationships with customers, prospects, and partners within their designated territory.
Responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the Public Sector sales team to develop and implement account plans.
- Collaborating with the Public Sector marketing team to enhance brand awareness and grow the pipeline.
- Focusing on acquiring new customer logos and expanding the existing customer base.
- Owning all technical aspects of sales opportunities to secure technical wins.
- Assisting current customers as they grow.
- Working with customers to understand their software development, security, and deployment processes.
- Conducting product demonstrations and POVs.
- Growing pipeline by participating in webinars, meetups, and conferences.
- Advocating for customer needs within Chainguard.
Requirements:
- Experience working with the federal government (CIV, DOD, or IC).
- Experience with accreditation and security policies like FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or HIPAA.
- For IC focused candidates, an active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Significant experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, etc.), container vulnerability scanning, analysis, and mitigation, and AppSec.
- Smart and passionate with a bias towards action and ownership.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to build trust with customers.
- Ability to inspire and influence others.
