Job Description

StockX is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Backend Software Engineer to join its Checkout Team. This role is based in Detroit, MI. The Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in building a scalable checkout experience for buyers across stockx.com and the StockX mobile apps. The engineer will be empowered to take ownership of technology decisions and solutions, contributing to a successful engineering culture.

What this role involves:

  • Working with product owners and stakeholders to define requirements and propose technical solutions.
  • Collaborating with the team to architect and design solutions.
  • Implementing, deploying, and monitoring systems and services.
  • Proposing and adopting best engineering practices.
  • Contributing to team processes for better sprint outcomes.
  • Ensuring security, scalability, reliability, and performance in solutions.
  • Demonstrating ownership of services and participating in system support.
  • Providing timely communication to stakeholders for issue resolution.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant development experience.
  • Experience with distributed architecture.
  • Proficiency in one or more back-end languages (NodeJS, GoLang) or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with data storage technologies (relational and NoSQL).
  • Experience with event-based architecture (Kafka, SNS, SQS).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
