Job Description

DEPT® is seeking a Technical Motion Designer to join its Creative & Media team in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will be responsible for bringing storyboards and creative concepts to life, translating creative ideas into rigged automation templates using After Effects. They will tackle projects requiring a blend of technical expertise, programming skills, art direction, graphic design, editing, and 2D motion design.

The Technical Motion Designer will work independently and collaborate with teams of designers, art directors, account and tech planners to come up with creative concepts and designs. They will take ownership of creative challenges from brief to delivery, including presenting ideas internally or to clients.

Role Involves:

  • Upskilling in automation and tech knowledge to attain expertise.
  • Producing inspiring and well-crafted designs that bring campaigns to life.
  • Managing template creation, maintenance, and updates.
  • Working across a variety of asset types across social, display, statics, HTML/banners and video.
  • Communicating with stakeholders in the process of campaign creation.
  • Maintaining brand consistency on projects.

Requirements:

  • Expert in After Effects (expressions/scripts/javascript).
  • Experience crafting templates, design systems or similar tools.
  • Interest in video automations technologies and AI tooling.
  • Experience as a Tech/Motion Designer or similar role.
  • Well-familiar with the Adobe creative suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition).
  • Experience with Figma.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team and clients.
  • Expert in graphic and motion design principles.
