Job Description
Red Cell Partners is seeking a Director of Engineering to scale the engineering organization of Trase Systems, co-founded by Joe Laws and Grant Verstandig. Trase empowers enterprise leaders to harness the full potential of AI. The Director of Engineering will play a critical role in scaling the engineering organization from its current state to support ambitious growth plans. This role focuses on building world-class engineering teams, establishing scalable processes, and creating an environment where engineers can do their best work. It emphasizes people leadership and operational excellence, building robust processes, nurturing team culture, and establishing systems to ensure smooth execution as the engineering team expands.
Responsibilities include:
- Scaling the engineering organization from 15 to 50+ engineers.
- Building organizational structure and communication channels.
- Establishing engineering operations for sprint planning, project management, and resource allocation.
- Driving performance management and career development.
- Fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Managing engineering budgets.
- Enabling productivity by removing obstacles.
- Partnering with leadership to align engineering capacity with business objectives.
- Measuring and improving engineering productivity, quality, and satisfaction.
Requirements include:
- 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, with at least 5 years managing managers.
- Experience scaling engineering teams through rapid growth in high-growth technology companies.
- Strong track record of implementing engineering processes and modern development methodologies.
- Expertise in performance management, compensation planning, and building high-performing distributed teams.
- Experience with engineering metrics and KPIs.
