Job Description
Ocado Technology is seeking a Data Engineer to join their Strategy and Operations & Data Products team. This role involves working closely with Data Engineering Product teams and analysts across Ocado Group to transform data into well-structured, reliable datasets. The Data Engineer will be instrumental in empowering the organization and partners to make informed, data-driven decisions. They will define requirements, build efficient data models optimized for reporting, and construct essential data warehouse components. The role also includes developing LookML models in Looker and gaining exposure to how these are exposed to clients through OSP Insights.

Role involves:
  • Developing products that solve real partner needs.
  • Designing and delivering data models in BigQuery data warehouse.
  • Building data products in Looker.

Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining data models.
  • Proficiency in data transformation tools (DBT).
  • Proficiency in LookML modeling and Looker API integration.
  • Analytical experience, particularly in data storytelling.
  • Proficient in applying SDLC principles.
