Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Job Description

Prolific is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join their Platform team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's infrastructure remains scalable, reliable, and ready for growth. This role involves implementing automation strategies, championing best practices, and serving as a technical expert to teams across Prolific. What this role involves:

• Managing and optimizing Kubernetes clusters in GKE through Terraform.
• Supporting compliance with SOC2, ISO-27001, and Cyber Essentials standards in cloud environments.
• Designing and implementing golden paths and automation strategies.
• Creating and maintaining infrastructure solutions for development teams.
• Serving as the technical point-of-contact for GCP and Kubernetes-related queries.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience administering and optimizing large-scale Kubernetes clusters.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes tooling, such as Helm and kustomize.
• Strong experience with GitOps tooling and methodologies, such as ArgoCD.
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services and architecture.
• Strong knowledge in GKE and Kubernetes, including maintenance and optimization of production clusters.
• Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
• Solid programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience creating developer-focused documentation and self-service solutions.
• Strong customer empathy, with a focus on supporting the needs of internal teams.
