Finance Control Analyst

Job Description

Monzo is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Finance Control Analyst to join their Finance team in London. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial accounting and help build a world-class finance function. This role is ideal for a qualified or soon-to-qualify accountant with an audit background.

The Finance Control Analyst will report to the Financial Control Manager and will be responsible for scaling Monzo in a controlled way, while helping to optimise financial accounting processes with the help of technology.

Role Involves:

• Managing a tight month-end close process.
• Writing insightful management commentary.
• Automating production elements of the role.
• Assisting with the implementation of a new accounting system.
• Learning SQL skills to run reports.
• Maintaining and developing new controls to protect financial data.
• Supporting the year-end process with external auditors.
• Reviewing new products and assessing the accounting implications.
• Assessing the impact of changes in accounting standards.
• Maintaining the integrity of the chart of accounts.
• Resolving miscellaneous inquiries and supporting the finance team.

Requirements:

• Qualified accountant with an audit background.
• Experience in financial accounting and control.
• Knowledge of banking (an asset).
• Great eye for detail.
• Good understanding of key financial controls.
• Self-starter.
• Comfortable translating complex information.
• Interested in using data (SQL skills a bonus).
• Thrives in a dynamic environment.
