Design Engineer (Contract)

Job Description

Notion is seeking a Design Engineer to join its web presence team. This team is responsible for Notion's marketing website, Notion.com, and aims to create a high-quality baseline for Notion’s reputation. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between a code-friendly design team and a design-friendly engineering team, shaping the team’s culture and impacting the craft of their work.What this role involves:

• Joining a growing team of designers and engineers to shape Notion's website.
• Bridging the gap between design and engineering teams.
• Creating front-end experiences and custom tools.
• Developing design systems and prototypes.
• Collaborating with teams across the company to launch initiatives and products.

Skills required:

• Exceptional front-end development skills, especially with CSS.
• Refined taste in design and understanding of web typography.
• 4–8 years of design engineering experience.
• Comfort with ambiguity and early-stage ideas.
• Passion for toolmaking and expanding access to technology.
