Senior Database Engineer

OpenEye is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to contribute to the architecture, reliability, performance, and security of its data backend infrastructure for OpenEye Web Services (OWS). This role is based in Liberty Lake, WA. The Senior Database Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing database solutions, optimizing database performance, and collaborating with various teams to ensure data integrity and accessibility. Responsibilities:

• Architecting and implementing scalable database solutions.
• Maintaining and optimizing database performance and security.
• Developing backend and data-centric software.
• Collaborating with team members to resolve issues.
• Reviewing development requests and software code.
• Providing guidance to other engineers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with software programming and databases.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency in Java, C#, or similar programming language.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Advanced understanding of query execution plans and database performance tuning.
• Exceptional data analytical skills.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
