Job Description
OpenTable is seeking a Lead Product Designer for its Hospitality team. This role will initially be remote but will transition to a hybrid model, requiring two days per week in the Toronto office starting in 2025. The Lead Product Designer will play a crucial role in shaping the future of OpenTable's restaurant-facing products. They will lead strategic design initiatives, drive the evolution of communication tools, and champion product concepts that align with customer needs and business goals. The Lead Product Designer will also mentor other designers on the team.

Role involves:
  • Leading strategic design initiatives for restaurant tools.
  • Driving the evolution of restaurant communication tools.
  • Championing product concepts balancing customer needs and business goals.
  • Conducting user research with restaurant owners and staff.
  • Collaborating with product managers and engineers.
  • Mentoring other designers.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years of product design experience, with 2+ years in a lead role.
  • Experience in B2B design or complex workflows.
  • Strong interaction design and usability skills.
  • Exceptional visual design skills.
  • Experience leading product visions from conception to execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Expertise in design systems.
  • Experience with user research data.
  • Experience with AI in design workflows.
  • Experience building relationships with product managers and engineers.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Experience mentoring junior designers.
