Job Description

Sagent is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Manager to lead the development team for their Dara product. This role is crucial in advancing Sagent's culture and practices. The Development Manager will be instrumental in building Sagent's next-generation servicing system and default products, which will be utilized by lenders and servicers in the consumer and mortgage lending markets across the United States.

The ideal candidate will work with a global development team, employing modern technologies, tools, and frameworks to develop advanced, enterprise business components compatible with Microsoft Azure platforms and Google Cloud. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a passion for innovation.

Role involves:

  • Leading a global cross-functional engineering team.
  • Owning technical design decisions and guiding Development teams through AGILE SDLC.
  • Overseeing architectural design, coding standards, DevOps integration, and software delivery lifecycle.
  • Collaborating with Product, Architecture, and Business stakeholders.
  • Leading Engineering teams in Increment and Sprint Planning.
  • Ensuring platform security, compliance, scalability, and performance.
  • Driving modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
  • Mentoring senior engineers and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Owning delivery metrics, resource planning, and risk management.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 4+ years in technical leadership/management roles.
  • Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture and SaaS platforms (preferably AWS).
  • Strong experience in the mortgage or financial services domain.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, React, SQL) and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with API development, event-driven systems, and integrations with third-party platforms.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance standards relevant to fintech/mortgage.
  • Strong people leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
