Job Description
Angi is seeking a Manager, Licensing Researcher to join their newly-formed Licensing Research Team. This team plays a crucial role in identifying, documenting, and interpreting licensing requirements for service professionals across the United States. The Manager will conduct deep regulatory research, lead the day-to-day work of the team, and refine the research process. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys complexity and critical thinking.
What this role involves:
- Developing a deep understanding of Angi's task taxonomy and ecosystem.
- Conducting licensing research across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
- Interpreting statutes, administrative codes, and government websites.
- Making clear, defensible decisions and documenting reasoning.
- Reaching out to government agencies or trade experts for verification.
- Serving as a resource for other researchers.
- Reviewing research outputs for accuracy and clarity.
- Helping onboard and train new researchers.
- Sharing best practices and suggesting process improvements.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in legal research, compliance, regulatory affairs, or public policy.
- Excellent analytical skills and sound judgment.
- Comfort interpreting ambiguous regulations.
- Clear communication skills.
- Experience mentoring or reviewing others' work (a plus).
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment.
- Familiarity with home services trades, licensing, or permitting (bonus).
