Job Description

Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, is seeking an Associate Systems Support Engineer to manage and implement software updates and patches for Windows-based systems and Azure cloud environments. The role involves interacting with internal and external customers to troubleshoot and resolve product issues, diagnosing complex problems related to system configurations, product functionality, and bugs. The engineer will also track and document support tickets, communicate with the product development department, and monitor infrastructure and application events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and implementing software updates and patches for Windows and Azure environments.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving product problems for customers.
  • Diagnosing complex customer issues related to system configurations and product functionality.
  • Tracking and documenting inbound support tickets.
  • Communicating with product development to improve design and identify potential problems.
  • Queue/ticket Management
  • Monitoring infrastructure and Application events
  • Advanced level troubleshooting, followed by escalation to SMEs or MS Azure Fundamentals and Windows OS

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science/IT/Others
  • 1-3 years' experience in handling patch operations
  • Proven experience in patch management for Windows systems, including SCCM deployment experience.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services and patch management in the cloud environment
  • Understanding of Win Server 2012, 2016 / Windows 10 environment
  • Understanding of Windows administration troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, IIS, Windows Cluster, Event Logs, PerfMon, Disk Management)
  • Intermediate Knowledge of SQL (SQL Jobs, Select Query)
  • Knowledge on Azure cloud concepts
  • Experience in working with remote support tools
  • International support experience (preferably US or Europe i.e. good command over verbal and written English)
  • Knowledge/Experience on office applications, Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Team
