Data Engineer

Renaissance Global is seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer to join their expanding team. This role is based in Houghton Le Spring, England, United Kingdom. The Data Engineer will be instrumental in designing and managing data systems, ensuring they align with the company's strategy and provide meaningful data insights. The role involves focusing on data format, quality, privacy, and sovereignty, as well as defining data standards for other teams.

Responsibilities:

• Identifying and implementing internal improvements for scalability and automation.
• Developing data guidelines and supporting teams in their adoption.
• Developing and maintaining BI tools and dashboards.
• Simplifying complex information for non-technical users.
• Writing and maintaining queries and scripts for data transformation.
• Producing technical documents on database content.
• Developing and analyzing data architecture and models.
• Ensuring optimal performance of data systems.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to define KPIs and data sources.

Requirements:

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure or AWS).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with complex data.
• Logical approach to problem-solving.
• Understanding of data modeling, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of data structures and database querying.
• Proficiency in SQL and programming languages (Python, R).
• Experience with Microsoft Azure data services.
• Experience working within a DevOps culture.
