Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Composites

Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Composites to join their team in Middle River, MD. This role will focus on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of composite manufacturing technologies and processes for the Neutron Launch Vehicle structure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in composite manufacturing and a passion for pushing the boundaries of space technology.What this role involves:

• Identifying, planning, and executing capital equipment, machine, and layout definitions.
• Developing and documenting production processes, including testing procedures and safety requirements.
• Designing and implementing tooling and equipment for production environments.
• Contributing to facility construction projects and design reviews.
• Overseeing the introduction of new products and revisions.
• Leading problem-solving and root cause investigations.
• Introducing automation and ensuring data links to MRP and quality systems.
• Developing and mentoring less experienced engineers and technicians.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering, or other technical degree.
• 5+ years of composite manufacturing experience.
• Experience in the selection, procurement, and installation of composite manufacturing equipment.
