Senior Firmware Engineer

Job Description

Astera Labs is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to architect and develop firmware and microcontroller subsystems for their SoC and systems products. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for implementing the major differentiating features of Astera Labs’ products, working closely with the hardware team and often interacting directly with customers to fully understand their needs.Role involves:

• Architecting and developing firmware for SoC and systems products.
• Implementing key differentiating features.
• Collaborating with hardware designers.
• Developing C-based SDKs.
• Writing unit-level tests.

Requirements:

• Strong academic and technical background in electrical engineering or computer science.
• Minimum 5 years' experience supporting or developing complex SoC/silicon products.
• Experience developing firmware to execute with on-chip microcontrollers.
• High level of proficiency in C or C++.
• Proficient in Python for scripting.
• Working knowledge of software build environments, gcc/make.
• Hands-on experience with Server, Storage, and/or Networking equipment.
