Job Description
Groupon is seeking a Business Development Representative to join their team in Dubai. Groupon is a marketplace where customers discover new experiences and services everyday and local businesses thrive. The ideal candidate will focus on finding and closing new small-sized businesses for the Groupon platform. This role involves hands-on professional sales training from day one, focusing on customer relationship building, Groupon's sales process, sales strategy, and sales psychology.
The role involves:
- Seeking out new business opportunities, targeting small size merchants through cold calling to engage, consult, and close local deals
- Developing familiarity with each merchant’s business, including but not limited to: products and/or services, consumer demographics, consumer ratings, points of competitive differentiation, merchant economic model, and revenue/profit drivers
- Utilizing knowledge of deal structure and strategy to reach Groupon’s and merchants’ desired outcomes and maximize profit
- Taking ownership of the contract negotiation process, dealing with margins, discounts, and other critical elements
- Consistently achieving and/or exceeding sales targets
- Working with Merchant Development teams post-close to ensure a flawless transition of accounts and align on merchant strategy
- Driving market growth for both quality of merchants and revenue
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
- 2 -3 years of success in a sales role within a territory or for a product
- Inside sales experience over the phone/email and social selling.
- Proven depth of knowledge and experience in transactional selling
- High level of understanding and entry-level experience in relationship management with small-sized accounts & strong sales orientation
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in meeting sales quotas, sales negotiation and problem-solving.
- Ability to demonstrate strong sales performance using sales instinct and judgement
- High degrees of diligence and accountability, with evidence of personal results
- Strong ability to follow direction and guidance
