First Line Risk Lead

Policy Expert is seeking a First Line Risk Lead to lead risk and compliance for the Customer and Commercial function. The role involves developing and maintaining oversight of governance processes to ensure good customer outcomes and alignment with strategic priorities. This is a hybrid role based in London.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain governance within the Customer and Commercial function.
• Serve as the first point of contact for regulatory and legal advice.
• Implement the company’s Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Oversee risk identification, assessment, and reporting processes.
• Lead risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) processes.
• Develop and manage Key Risk Indicators (KRI).
• Embed a risk-aware culture across the function.
• Upskill the function with FCA regulatory requirements.
• Promote good customer outcomes.

Requirements:

• Proven track record in governance and/or internal audit.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong influencing and relationship skills.
• Ability to assess and interpret data.
• Working knowledge of Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) and FCA Handbooks.
• Knowledge of insurance products (home, car, pet preferred).
• Strong understanding of general insurance products.
• Good analytical and data analysis skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Agile approach to working.
