InterWorks is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to be located in their Melbourne, Australia office. The candidate will be responsible for designing scalable data solutions and guiding organizations through complex data challenges. This role requires a blend of enterprise data architecture and governance with consulting and solution-building.They will work with clients across industries to build robust data platforms, define standards, and implement governance frameworks.What This Role Involves:

• Architecting and implementing enterprise-level data solutions.
• Designing and optimizing data models and integration pipelines.
• Partnering with clients to develop data platforms and analytics strategies.
• Creating and overseeing ETL/ELT processes.
• Serving as a liaison between business and IT.
• Managing project timelines and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering.
• High proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
• Experience in data governance and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in client-facing environments.
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data lakehouse architecture.
• Support for data science initiatives.
• Understanding of pipeline and cost monitoring.
• Experience with Azure & AWS CSP's preferable
