Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking a Vehicle Integration Technician - Avionics to join their team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves installing avionic and mechanical components, wiring harnesses, and high voltage batteries onto the Electron launch vehicle. The successful candidate will be a hands-on technician working with tools and equipment to build, launch, and test Rocket Lab launch vehicles or components.Rocket Lab's Electron team is responsible for building, testing, and launching their Electron rocket across launch sites and test facilities in the United States and New Zealand.Responsibilities:
  • Install avionic and mechanical components.
  • Install wiring harnesses.
  • Install high voltage batteries onto the Electron launch vehicle.
  • Work with tools, equipment and/or facilities to build, launch or test Rocket Lab launch vehicles or components.
Requirements:
  • Trade qualified in relevant industry.
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with precision avionic and mechanical assembly.
  • Comfortable with high precision crimping, soldering and harness termination tasks.
  • Comfortable working to exacting standards, including cleanliness for oxygen service.
  • Sound understanding of standard industry ESD.
  • Good eyesight and ability to inspect assemblies to a high workmanship standard.
  • Ability to manufacture components to a high workmanship standard.
