Data Science Engineer (f/m/d)

Job Description

enmacc, Europe’s largest over-the-counter trading market venue for energy and environmental commodities, is seeking a Data Science Engineer to play a major role in shaping the future of intelligence at the company. The Data Science Engineer will report directly to the Head of Platform, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to identify opportunities for introducing intelligence into the energy trading marketplace. The role involves improving existing machine learning implementations, identifying opportunities for ML and GenAI, and leading data science initiatives to foster individual and team growth within engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Driving cutting-edge machine learning initiatives, setting the direction for advanced AI technologies.
• End-to-end ownership of data science products, spanning the entire technical workflow and related project management responsibilities.
• Identifying common use cases for ML and developing models that can be used “Out of the Box” by engineers.
• Enabling the integration of Generative AI models, allowing development teams to integrate these capabilities without extensive ML expertise.
• Putting the customer/user of data science products at the center of product development.
• Advocating Data Science fundamentals in the Development and Product Departments.
• Driving collaboration between Platform, Product, and Engineering teams.

Requirements:

• Excellent academic background in a quantitative field.
• Strong proficiency in Python and specialized ML libraries.
• Strong familiarity with Generative AI, including experience with different large language models.
• Solid understanding of the benefits and drawbacks of different ML algorithms.
• Experience working with relational/NoSQL databases.
• Experience working with Docker, AWS services.
• Experience in deploying, maintaining, and updating models in production.
• Experience working end-to-end to deliver production-ready data products.
• Experience working with business stakeholders.
• Able to work autonomously and in a result-oriented way.
