Job Description
GoCardless is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team in Paris. This role is pivotal in managing the group's regulatory financial reporting and French financial statements. The Financial Accountant will report to the Finance Manager and act as a technical accounting expert for the group. This position offers flexibility, with the option to be remote or hybrid, welcoming candidates from across France.

The role involves:
  • Preparing French statutory financial statements in accordance with the PGC.
  • Preparing entries to convert IFRS to FR GAAP.
  • Providing support during the Company's external audits and interacting with auditors.
  • Working with financial controllers to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting for regulatory reporting.
  • Maintaining and strengthening internal controls over regulatory and French statutory reporting.
  • Researching and resolving accounting issues, including evaluating and implementing new pronouncements to ensure reporting compliance.
  • Delivering process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting, regulatory reporting, and overall control environment.

Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar position or prior audit experience in a Big 4 firm or company.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of regulatory reporting, French GAAP (PCG and PCEC), and IFRS standards.
  • Ability to work in an international environment in both French and English.
  • A self-starter who can work independently to identify and resolve accounting issues.
  • Proven skills in analysing processes with the ability to simplify and automate to improve operations.
  • Excellent communicator, able to explain complex concepts to non-experts.
  • Collaborative approach.
