Senior Backend Engineer - Anti-Abuse

Job Description

SoundCloud is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join its Anti-Abuse team in Berlin. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for creating solutions to protect SoundCloud users and ensure a safe space on the platform. The ideal candidate will have proven backend engineering skills and experience designing complex systems. They should also be motivated to work in the abuse prevention space and be a team player with excellent communication skills.SoundCloud is a multinational company with offices in the US, Germany, and the UK, offering a flexible work culture and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain systems to prevent and detect fraudulent activities using Go/Scala
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering
• Solve technical problems with a large scope and complexity
• Design systems capable of handling high loads of traffic
• Maintain production systems, including answering incidents
• Contribute to team and organizational improvements in processes and tooling
• Confidently own moderate to significantly complex features and improvements
• Continuously learn and share knowledge of industry best practices on fighting abuse

Requirements:

• Many years of experience building complex software applications
• Expert-level experience with one or more programming languages such as Scala, Go
• Good understanding of algorithms and data structures
• Cares about privacy by design, security, testing, high-performance systems, and mentoring others
• Extensive expertise in cloud computing and native environments
