GSD Work Study Analyst

Job Description

Jonsson Workwear is seeking a methodical and improvement-focused IEES Analyst to join their Garment Technology team in Durban. In this role, the analyst will collaborate with the Product Development team at the HQ in Durban and factories across Southern Africa to shape how garments move from concept to bulk production. The analyst will set fair standards backed by data to guide the manufacturing process, optimize resources, and reduce lead times to help manufacturing teams work smarter.Role involves:

• Creating accurate labor breakdowns for costing using GSD methodology.
• Ensuring labor breakdowns consider available machinery, line setups, and skills.
• Observing and auditing factory lines to identify smarter ways of working.
• Providing optimal line balances to maximize efficiency.
• Maintaining alignment between costed SMVs and actual SMVs.
• Analyzing quality results and recommending improvements.

Requirements:

• A relevant qualification in Work Study.
• Proven track record in operational breakdowns, line balancing, and applying GSD standards.
• A sound understanding of the sewing manufacturing industry.
• Studying toward, or completed, a qualification in Industrial Engineering would be an added advantage.
