Job Description
PLOS is seeking a Senior Editor, Team Manager to join their Publication Ethics team. This role is fully remote and involves contributing to team strategy, managing a cohort of staff, and taking primary responsibility for aspects of the team's work.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and develop team members.
- Advise staff on case investigations and decisions.
- Lead or oversee publication ethics case decision-making.
- Contribute to investigations of publication ethics cases.
- Lead or contribute to projects and cross-functional partnerships.
- Attend virtual COPE events.
- Contribute to internal/external communications and policy development.
Requirements:
- Considerable expertise in peer review and publication ethics case investigations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to lead a remote team.
- Commitment to open access and research integrity.
- PhD in a scientific discipline or similar clinical qualification.
- Experience in STM publishing in senior editorial or publication ethics roles.
- Extensive experience investigating publication ethics issues.
