Publication Ethics- Senior Editor, Team Manager

Job Description

PLOS is seeking a Senior Editor, Team Manager to join their Publication Ethics team. This role is fully remote and involves contributing to team strategy, managing a cohort of staff, and taking primary responsibility for aspects of the team's work.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit, train, and develop team members.
• Advise staff on case investigations and decisions.
• Lead or oversee publication ethics case decision-making.
• Contribute to investigations of publication ethics cases.
• Lead or contribute to projects and cross-functional partnerships.
• Attend virtual COPE events.
• Contribute to internal/external communications and policy development.

Requirements:

• Considerable expertise in peer review and publication ethics case investigations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to lead a remote team.
• Commitment to open access and research integrity.
• PhD in a scientific discipline or similar clinical qualification.
• Experience in STM publishing in senior editorial or publication ethics roles.
• Extensive experience investigating publication ethics issues.
