Job Description
EVERY™ is seeking a Fermentation Research Associate to join their Strain Screening team in Daly City, CA. This role involves conducting precision fermentation experiments using 2L bioreactors and contributing to process development for animal-free animal proteins. The Fermentation Research Associate will play a key role in the company's mission to decouple the world’s proteins from animals.
Responsibilities:
- Running precision fermentation experiments to screen microbial strains.
- Operating 2L bioreactors.
- Preparing media and solutions using aseptic techniques.
- Assembling, disassembling, and sterilizing fermentation vessels and labware.
- Monitoring active fermentations, collecting samples, and running key assays.
- Troubleshooting fermentation challenges.
- Collaborating with teams across strain engineering, analytics, and process development.
- Managing inventory and organizing materials.
- Analyzing fermentation data.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree with 2+ years of fermentation/lab experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, bioprocessing, chemical engineering, or related field OR equivalent hands-on fermentation experience with demonstrable knowledge of techniques and equipment.
- Comfortable with manual labor and repetitive workflows.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with lab safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
