Job Description
Monzo is seeking a Technical Manager to join their Financial Crime Operations team. This role is crucial for expanding Monzo's presence in the EU, ensuring efficient and compliant operations in combating financial crime. The Technical Manager will provide expert guidance, handle complex investigations, and serve as the final point of technical escalation. The ideal candidate is fluent in both Spanish and English and passionate about making a real difference.
Role Involves:
- Investigating complex and high-risk financial crime cases.
- Serving as the final point of technical escalation.
- Providing specialist knowledge and coaching to Financial Crime Investigators.
- Working with Control Owners and Product Partners to implement new tasks and processes.
- Supporting operational effectiveness through deep dives and identifying knowledge gaps.
- Final point of escalation for onboarding decisions in high risk/complex cases.
- Supporting the Learning and Development Team to create new learning materials.
Requirements:
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in Spanish (CEFR C1 level).
- Extensive subject matter expertise in Financial Crime (FinCrime).
- Strong understanding of financial crime, legislation and regulations within Spain.
- Significant experience in conducting complex Financial Crime investigations.
- Ability to handle complex escalations within the Financial Crime domain.
- Experience in identifying trends and delivering Financial Crime technical training and coaching.
