Job Description
PhonePe Group is seeking an Assistant Manager/Manager Legal - Licensing & Regulatory to join their team in Bangalore. PhonePe is a leading digital payments company in India, expanding into financial services and tech-enabled businesses. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of RBI regulations applicable to NBFCs and experience in managing internal compliance controls.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing legal advice on policies and agreements related to the lending business.
- Drafting and reviewing partnership agreements for NBFC and Banking partnerships.
- Scanning the regulatory environment and analyzing new legislations.
- Liaising with partner NBFCs and Banks to structure compliant products.
- Conducting internal diligence and risk assessments related to LSP operations.
- Coordinating with internal teams to ensure compliant implementation of customer journeys.
- Maintaining documentation for compliance and audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in law (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in an NBFC, Bank, or FinTech operating in Digital Lending.
- In-depth knowledge of RBI regulations applicable to NBFCs.
- Strong understanding of NBFC-LSP operating models.
- Legal and contractual acumen to review lending agreements.
