Job Description
Talkdesk is seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting to lead revenue operations. The Director will report to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for end-to-end revenue processes. The ideal candidate will partner with Finance, Sales, Legal, and Operations to support Talkdesk's SaaS and consumption-based business model, ensure compliance with ASC 606, and support IPO readiness efforts.
Role Involves:
- Managing the monthly revenue close process.
- Driving accounting policies and documentation.
- Serving as the internal subject matter expert on revenue recognition.
- Leading the implementation and optimization of scalable revenue operations processes and systems.
- Supporting external financial audits.
- Playing a key role in IPO readiness activities.
- Partnering cross-functionally with FP&A, Sales Ops, and Legal.
- Building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing revenue accounting team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- 3+ years in a leadership role in revenue accounting.
- Big 4 public accounting experience.
- SaaS industry experience (required).
- Expert knowledge of ASC 606.
- Hands-on experience with consumption-based or usage-based billing and revenue models.
- Strong operational mindset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Zuora, RevPro or other revenue automation tools.
- Track record of building teams and processes in high-growth environments.
- Exposure to international operations and multi-entity consolidations.
