Software Engineer II (Data Platform)

Tripadvisor is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their Data Platform group in Lisbon. The candidate will contribute to building, upgrading, and sustaining large-scale data processing and experimentation infrastructure. This role involves working with a variety of technologies and collaborating with product and design teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

What this role involves:

• Taking on projects with independence.
• Participating in planning and initial steps for key changes.
• Touching code at all levels, from client ingestion to data storage and analysis.
• Taking responsibility for all aspects of software engineering, from design to implementation, QA, and maintenance.
• Ensuring code quality through design and code review.
• Collaborating with product and design teams.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in commercial software development.
• Strong history of development with Java.
• Familiarity with Linux.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Strong analytical skills and desire to write clean, correct, and efficient code.
