Job Description
Xometry, a company that connects people with manufacturers, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer in Detroit, MI. This role involves being part of a fast-moving team of engineering professionals who solve quality assurance problems for customized parts. The QA Engineer will assist the Senior Director in developing the quality system following corporate policies, goals and objectives and the requirements of AS9100.

Role involves:
  • Enhancing Supplier Quality Culture through process improvement projects.
  • Utilizing quality tools to resolve issues related to non-conformances and Customer RMAs.
  • Managing supplier related NCR/SCAR/CAR activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining an AS9100-compliant Quality Management.
  • Analyzing non-conformance trends and evaluating the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Problem-solving and following up on troubled orders to improve supplier quality.
  • Applying engineering knowledge on supplier manufacturing to ensure quality hardware meets customer requirements.
  • Assessing the impact of manufactured part rejections and communicating with suppliers.
  • Participating in QA and RMA Meetings (Live Reviews).
  • Overseeing internal production of products from a quality perspective.
  • Monitoring and reviewing quality metrics for publication.
  • Assisting with onsite Customer Audits.
  • Supporting Quality Management System requirements.
  • Aiding Quality Control Lab as necessary.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a Technical related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in engineering, quality role, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a supplier-facing role or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering drawing requirements.
  • Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to multitask, meet deadlines, and support all supplier quality field activities.
  • Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and DFM/DFQ.
  • Strong manufacturing knowledge.
  • Able to read and interpret CAD Models & Drawings.
  • Strong time management/project management capabilities.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Process Certification/Process Robustness.
  • Superior analytic and articulation skills.
