Job Description
The NFL is seeking a Storage Engineer III to join their team of solutions engineers and architects. This role is based in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. The Storage Engineer III will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for storage systems, making technical decisions and ensuring the smooth operation of critical services.Responsibilities include the installation, operation, administration, and maintenance of storage systems at corporate offices and stadiums. The engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting storage-related issues, setting standards, and implementing automation tools. They will represent the NFL IT Department internally and externally, managing storage diagrams, configurations, and documentation.Responsibilities:
  • Installation, operation, administration, and maintenance storage systems
  • Responding to technical escalations for storage related service issues
  • Setting standards and monitors the performance and status of the storage systems
  • Managing and maintaining storage diagrams, configurations, support, and training documentation
  • Providing reports for storage KPIs to show service levels, capacity analysis, performance, troubleshooting, and areas for improvement in storage infrastructure
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent field experience and related certifications
  • 5 - 8 years relevant experience, including hands on storage implementation and lifecycle maintenance
  • Advanced degree of knowledge of storage hardware (NetApp preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of NAS protocols (SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, NFS, DFS and ZFS)
  • Experience with the transfer of data to/from cloud offerings such as AWS S3
  • Experience with Cloud-NAS gateways
  • Experience with migrating large datasets (block and file level) across vendor platforms
  • Knowledge of security models and ACLs
  • Experience working with virtualization technology preferably VMWare
  • Familiarity with multi-pathing and other high availability configurations on the server side
  • Understanding of IP storage networking including VLAN tagging, routing and L2 switching
  • Ability to troubleshoot storage related issues on both windows and linux platforms
