Android Engineer

Job Description

NewGlobe is seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join their cross-functional software development team in Lagos, Nigeria. This role focuses on building software that enhances the delivery of learning gains at scale, particularly within the learning management platform and other Android-based technologies used in NewGlobe academies. The Android Engineer will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to advance Bridge's technology, contributing to innovation and high-impact solutions.This person will be responsible for:

• Gathering requirements, building, testing, and shipping new Android functionality.
• Collaborating with server-side developers to design APIs tailored for the Android application.
• Engaging in all aspects of the app, including UI/UX, business logic, storage, and networking.
• Introducing architectural patterns to improve scalability, stability, and maintainability.

Requirements for this position include:

• A bachelor's degree in a related field with strong academic performance.
• At least 3 years of professional Android development experience, with published apps on Google Play.
• Full lifecycle experience, from conceptualization to deployment and feedback integration.
• Knowledge of Gradle and Dependency Injection (DI).
• Experience architecting entire Android applications.
• Belief in automated unit, integration, and functional testing.
• Exposure to continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
• Passion for NewGlobe's vision.
